Studio 54
Exhibition in Multimedia Art Museum dedicated to Studio 54 pushed me into river full of thoughts, reminiscences and parallels. All the time while I watched film about Studio I see just one - John Hammond stare.
"- Condors! If I would breed condors on the island, you would not say a word to me"
Their aspiration to give people something different, something new, some freedom, feelings of almighty... unavailing dream which turn into another one flea circus. And more
"- When the amusement park opened, there were problems with the rides too!
- But the pirates of the Caribbean did not attack the visitors, wanting to kill them!”
Film - and studio - is sad Hammond stare on a insect, catched into amber. Dream which bring sorrow, pain and death. But this dream about new better world - or escape from daily business - don't became less great or pure.
